The Secret Life of Bees

Just a few days ago, a friend, blog reader, I asked for an explanation of the name I had given him: "Mirror of Galadriel."
Recalling that the "Mirror of Galadriel" is, say, an object in the novel "The Lord of the Rings," you might think I'm one of many set, worshipers, etc.. etc. of that story. I know the book, even before it came out the film version (the book is always the book) and although I like it, I decided to borrow the "Mirror", not a reckless and maniacal love of the novel, but with good reason the phrase with which Galadriel (one of the queens of the Elves) submit it to Frodo. The sentence is what you find under the title of the blog: "Many things ask the Mirror of the Mirror can also reveal ... spontaneously show pictures ... most weird and useful than that ... ... want to see even the wisest can know. " Question then Frofo "I advice you to look ? " Galadriel replied " No, I do not recommend neither the one nor the other. See is both an asset and a danger .
For more details, refer to the post baptism with which I gave to the blog and maybe another post I intend to give more explanations on the title and the essence of the blog, although I should be clear that the intent of each post contained therein.
I hope, then, that becomes evident, also, the idea-generating and the purpose of this post is based on two pictures that the mirror showed me a book and read a quotation attributed to Einstein.
So I want to give you only one point of view ... say that it is up to you wanting to "see" concept which is then arrived Cameron Diaz in Avatar). I, nor I recommend this, nor do the opposite, knowing that "see" is at the same time, a good and dangerous.
So let us today to "see" what is man compared to the world, the environment in which they live.
During the Christmas period, I happened to read a book called "The Secret Life of Bees," written by an author set in the U.S. and South Carolina, during the period when you start the process of racial integration, a time of strong discrimination against "Negroes." A nice story that is a personal matter (a daughter, the absence of a mother who tragically died), set in a historical context of considerable geographical interest, which is in the background and takes the lives of bees.
Some time later, I then happened to read an article about the bee die-off and I'm reminded of a famous phrase that has been attributed to Einstein: "If one day the bees were to disappear, man would remain only four years of life. "
A phenomenon that the memory of bees, some say, has reached catastrophic proportions in the United States, where the amount of memory - with peaks of 60-70% - has alarmed farmers and beekeepers.
As for Einstein, or what purports to be, instead, the phrase which seems exaggerated, absurd: the man destined to become extinct if all the bees were to die !?!?!.
But this hypothesis seems incredible that hides a truth, if you think that about 60-70% of the food we eat comes from plants pollinated by bees. So without them, certainly, if not the extinction risk of a drastic reduction in the menus and anyway, the words attributed Einstein, it may be well founded, considering that in addition to pollinated plants originating about 2 / 3 of our food, there are others, also pollinated, the source of food for the animals which we eat and required for the preservation of life on the planet.
In any case, it is totally or partially justified, that phrase hides a definite revelation, for us men in this age we live: our sad self-centeredness, our way of life based on a concept of "autarky" of our existence , we have now, wrongly convinced we can govern themselves and our entire existence.
We are so convinced not to depend on anything, much to think that the Life is in our service and is due to something that is not necessary to the preservation and protection. We are so "closed" in ourselves, not to feel part of a system, of which we are a fruit and not the cause and the only engine. A
be so small as to be insignificant for many and at times even annoying, proves decisive for us.
E 'discovery of how our lives are made of small things, indeed, how are these to give us their existence.
Bees, which teach us much in terms of social interaction, respect for others, understanding of the community, primarily, is the first single, without whom nothing would be the single, also remind us that life is not the artificiality that we create to mark our days, but the existence of man is a galaxy littered with millions of tiny stars, all unique and indispensable to guarantee the existence of galaxies, albeit small compared to the vastness of the galaxy itself.
And perhaps now time, in the third millennium, to rediscover our roots, our role on this planet. It 'time to restore the proper balance and relationship with our home and our mother and the living beings who are like us, part of it, each essential to the existence of everything, in spite of our eyes superb There appears to be under a robe of preconceived futility.
